Hi, I read about the recent finalization of the translation and I just want to say to Byuu and everyone else involved, THANK YOU!! I have loved the game since I spotted it and now I can finally actually play it with the Translation patch. However, I’ve been sitting at my computer for like two hours trying to figure out how to get the patch and rom to work together, but I cannot get it to do so. I am very inexperienced in these things so I am pretty sure it is my fault. I have followed the directions I believe but simply am not getting something. I am working on Windows Vista if that makes a difference. I don’t understand how to write the direct paths that are mentioned, any chance someone has something I can copy exactly to get the right sequence? Thanks, hope to hear from anybody soon!

I got the mac patcher to work like this:

cd path/to/directory
./name_of_executable

could someone please put up an ftp or other type of link with the patched version of the game since the macintosh version of the patch doesn’t work in terminal tired both ppc and intel.

Get the same errors like the rest of the guys with macintosh.

Hope they fix that patch soon or someone posts a link for good ol sake’

Okay, I got home and tried it again and it didn’t work… but it did when I first changed directories to the /whatever/path/ and then explicitly ran the patch by the full /whatever/path/patch method. Maybe that’s what’s missing for you too? I think what we need are some real Mac heads Anyway, good luck, Flunky!

I’ve tried that before and just tried it again, to no avail. Haven’t found a way to make it work yet on any intel or ppc macs I’ve tried. Annoying to not be able to enjoy the patch, but, as they say, ’so it goes’.

This is probably too little, too late to address Flunky’s problem, but in case anyone else on a mac is having the dl_j.smc not found issue (which I recreated on both PPC and Intel macs - using the correct installer in all cases), the solution I found through brute force trial and error (I’m still not really a mac person, but that’s what my boss gives me, so that’s what I use) is to go to Terminal and type “/whatever/path/patch” (no quotes), and not specifying the input or output files.

Even though I had tried it at the command line specifying paths for the input and output files, I was still getting a variety of errors, despite the files all being in the same happy little directory. Since I’ve no understanding of why it didn’t work before or why it decided to start working, your mileage may vary considerably, but you’re all welcome to the fruit of my frustrations.

Great work and many thanks to all who contributed to this project (you know who you are), and Derrick, I’m actually going to be flying out to live in Beijing in two days (as terrifying as that is), so if you happen to see a 26 year old white guy wandering around in a daze, you may well have stumbled across someone who’s enjoying what you’ve put so much time and effort in to.

The patched game works fine with “Snes9xpp SE’ Windows v1.37c”
I think this is a slightly different build than the normal ones, but I’m not certain.
However all games which should have problems with snes9x worked for me with the one above mentioned without causing any problems.
I’m in chapter 9 and nothing has crashed so far… (no other problems as well), I hope this helps a bit
